Target group

This course is designed for employees who will assume control of the incident scene beyond the first responder level.

Prerequisites

40 hour HAZWOPER Specialist Safety Training Certificate or 40 hour HAZWOPER Refresher Certificate

NOTE: Certificate is not required to enroll in this course; however, the refresher is only valid if the delegate has previously taken and passed a 40 hour
HAZWOPER Specialist Safety Training course or has completed a refresher
course within one year of taking this course.

Objective

To prepare the candidates who will assume control of the incident scene
beyond the first responder level. Upon completion of this course, the employee
will be able to implement the employer’s incident command system and
emergency response plan.

• Monitoring instruments
• Control and containment
• Decontamination procedures
• Hazardous materials spill cleanup

Exam

The candidate will be required to score a minimum competency of 70% on a
written exam. The course will also include role playing and scenarios.
